our mission

Hand Drawn Line Divider

so how are we doing that?

Hand Drawn Line Divider

To create space where theatrical artists can thrive, building access for every audience member to experience and engage with Shakespeare, new works, and underperformed writers.

Theatre for, by, and in the community.

To do theatre where theatre isn’t done.

Since its founding in fall of 2022, Shades of Orange has brought theatre into a variety of non-traditional spaces across South Bend, from cat cafés and neighborhood festivals to metaphysical supply stores and community centers.

We host monthly readings, occasional workshops, and pop-up performances throughout the year.

It is a pop-up open-mic style event that welcomes

Come to perform or recite, or just to watch.

Come for the whole time, or just a bit.

Oct. 24 - 26 & oct. 31 - Nov. 2

HAUNTED: A MACBETH EXPERIENCE, directed by Miranda Manier and Liz Zimmerman, is an immersive take on the Scottish play, placing audience members within Macbeth’s perspective as paranoia, ambition, and tyranny take hold.

In this abbreviated version of "Macbeth," Shades of Orange will be bringing the iconic play to life in an elevated, narrative haunted house environment.
